The shooting happened around 9 pm on Wednesday on Niland Crescent, leading to a police investigation.

This is the second night in a row a man in his 20s has been shot in Sydney.

The police suspect the shooting on Tuesday night in Campsie might be gang-related, but they haven't made any such claims about the Blackett incident.

Police are looking into whether these two incidents are connected. A statement from the New South Wales Police said,

"Around 9 pm on Wednesday, emergency services were called to Niland Crescent, Blackett, after reports of a man being shot. Officers from the Mount Druitt Police Area Command found a 29-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his body and head. He was treated on-site and taken to Westmead Hospital in serious condition. Police have set up a crime scene and are investigating."

Incredibly, the man who was shot in Campsie on Tuesday narrowly survived another shooting in 2020.

Vailena Koalomatangi remains in St George Hospital, with police waiting for him to recover further before questioning him, according to a report in The Daily Telegraph.

“As inquiries continue police are urging anyone with CCTV footage or information about the incident to contact Mount Druitt police or Crime Stoppers on
