Amid the rising tensions in the Middle East due to the ongoing hostilities between Israel and the Palestinian faction, Hamas, China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) has positioned six warships in the region.
The fleet includes notable vessels like the Zibo, a Type 052D guided-missile destroyer, the Jingzhou frigate, and the Qiandaohu integrated supply ship. These ships were previously part of the PLA's 44th naval escort task force, which recently engaged in joint military drills with Oman.
This event happens after the US Deploys the USS Gerald R Ford, its most sophisticated aircraft carrier, and accompanying battle group to the strategically important West Asia region.
In a related development, Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized on October 19 China's consistent stance in favour of the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state, which he described as the essential solution to the ongoing conflict, as cited by state media.
