Ali El Houli (17) and Zena Houli (18), two young cousins, have tragically lost their lives in a devastating motorbike collision in the western suburbs of Melbourne.

The sorrowful incident occurred during a family gathering intended to celebrate a children's birthday party on Father's Day, turning what should have been a joyous occasion into one of heartbreak.

The fatal crash unfolded on Beattys Road in Grangefield's near Melton at approximately 6:35 pm on Sunday.

Ali, 17, and Zena, 18, were riding off-road motorbikes when the collision occurred, claiming their lives. The crash has cast a shadow over the family's celebration and has left their loved ones in shock and grief.

According to Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Lineham, the cousins were riding unregistered motorbikes when they collided head-on. The collision took Zena's life instantly, while Ali was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries later.

Two teenagers were killed in a motorbike crash in Melbourne.

Tragically, two other young boys, aged six and 11, were also seriously injured and immediately transported to the Royal Children's Hospital.

However, there is no conclusive evidence this occurred due to limited witnesses and lack of answers from the family. The precise circumstances of the incident remain under investigation, leaving many questions unanswered.

The tragedy also extended to the Houli family when Zena's father, Ali Houli, attempted to come to her aid. He hopped on a quad bike to reach his daughter following the crash but lost control, colliding with a speed sign and crashing near the site of the earlier accident.

Omar El Houli, the uncle of Ali and Zena, and the owner of the property where the accident occurred, expressed his profound grief over the loss.

"Heart-breaking" is how he described the situation, as he recounted the painful moment when he discovered the lifeless bodies of his niece and nephew on the ground. The family is grappling with the profound loss of two cherished individuals.

Neighbours in the area, like Tom Panza, observed that visibility was compromised at the time of the crash. As the sun set, several motorbikes were in motion, but the absence of proper lighting raised concerns about potential accidents.
