The Israeli government has embarked on an extensive media campaign tailored to Western countries, aiming to influence global perceptions amidst its ongoing operations in the Gaza Strip.

The diverse media strategy unfolds on various platforms, including X and YouTube, featuring potent and visually striking advertisements. This observation emerges from a data analysis conducted by Politico.

Journalist Sophia Smith highlighted on X that Israel has invested approximately $7.1 million exclusively on YouTube advertisements, translating to roughly 1 billion impressions.

A closer examination of the data revealed that the campaign had an extensive outreach, garnering almost a billion views.

Remarkably, $1.1 million was specifically designated for the United Kingdom audience.

Smith's research further unearthed a concerning trend. Certain videos would sporadically appear and vanish from the ad centre, hinting at potential breaches of YouTube's advertisement policies. According to Politico, Google took down 30 ads from the Israeli government for not adhering to their standards.

Smith leveraged Semrush, an analytical tool that estimates advertising campaign expenditures, in conjunction with Google's ad transparency centre. Her investigations reveal that the campaign primarily reached out to countries such as France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, disseminating a total of 88 ads between October 7 and October 19.

Following the onset of conflict in the Gaza Strip on October 7, reports indicate that over 4,385 Palestinians, including a minimum of 1,756 children, have lost their lives. Moreover, the ongoing conflict has led to the demise of over 10 Israeli captives in Gaza, as reported by Hamas statements.

While Google upholds strict guidelines against advertisements that showcase violent content, disturbing imagery, or explicit representations of trauma, instances of such ads continuously being uploaded and activated have been observed. One specific ad reportedly portrayed a surgery of a burnt Israeli child.

The media outreach distinctively designated Hamas as a "ruthless terrorist organization", drawing comparisons with the Islamic State militant group.

The world should boycott their IG and Facebook accounts, as they are owned by Jews. I know I am. We are allowing them an insight to our everyday lives, they control what we post, what we can’t post. Every one should stand with Palestinian people, by boycotting their accounts and not growing the Jews’ fortune, so they are able to do exactly what was done to them 83 years ago…a holocaust of Palestinians and who knows who else in the near future. That’s my 2 cents
