On the 30th of September, a protest making its way through central Beirut faced an unexpected interruption when a group of men, reportedly affiliated with the far-right Christian organization called the "Soldiers of God," intervened, as reported by Lebomemes101.

According to the official Lebanese news agency ANN, these men chanted slogans opposing "all forms of homosexuality in the streets of Beirut."
As the march commenced, motorcyclists from this group attempted to disrupt it, while others from the same group headed to the Ministry of Interior to seek an order for the march's cancellation.
Amid their actions, they threatened the parade participants and chanted slogans against the legalization of homosexuality.
This incident follows closely on the heels of another concerning event that transpired roughly a month ago. At that time, a group of extremists, identified by Amnesty International as members of the Soldiers of God, stormed an LGBT bar in Beirut, where a drag queen show was taking place.

During the attack, they vociferously expressed anti-gay sentiments and physically assaulted some of the attendees.
This gained momentum after Hezbollah's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, publicly denounced homosexual relationships, even advocating for the extreme measure of "killing" those engaged in such relationships.
