Two individuals have found themselves facing charges related to assisting Johnson Kokozian, accused of causing a fatal car crash by driving a Mercedes at excessive speeds. This tragic incident resulted in the loss of two siblings' lives, Aline Kauffman & her brother Ernesto Salazar. The events unfolded near Liverpool Local Court in South-West Sydney, where authorities pursued and apprehended a 22-year-old woman in connection with the case.
NSW police allege that after the crash Kokozian, his 22-year-old partner, Tiana Savignano, and his father (61 years-old) discussed a plan to cover up the 20-year-old’s involvement.
They are also accused of making false reports to police in the aftermath of the deadly collision, police say.
Additionally, Cruz Davis-Tuka (21 years-old), was taken into custody at his Liverpool residence earlier on the same day, faced identical charges.
Initially, Kokozian faced charges of two counts of dangerous driving causing death. However, these charges were upgraded to aggravated dangerous driving causing death due to the alleged excessive speed.
Additional charges against him included dangerous driving, negligent driving causing death, two counts of failing to stop and provide assistance after a fatal collision and driving while disqualified.
A prosecutor informed the court that a brief of evidence would be presented before Kokozian's next court appearance in November, which is set to occur in Campbelltown.
In the aftermath of the crash, police have been continuously searching for other individuals believed to have been in the Mercedes. Eyewitnesses reported that three young men fled the scene in a Volkswagen Golf.
