The incident occurred at Keilor Cafe on Saturday morning, located in Melbourne's north-west over the weekend.
Gavin Preston, aged 50, met his demise while seated at arm’s length to other patrons at the Keilor establishment on a Saturday morning.
Surveillance footage captured the terrifying moment when an individual dressed entirely in black hastily crossed the street and unleashed a hail of gunfire upon Preston.
The sudden burst of violence sent bystanders diving for cover, their hands instinctively shielding their heads.

Preston, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries and lay lifeless on the pavement.
Simultaneously, a man who had been seated opposite him at the same table made a hasty escape, disappearing from the camera's view.
Another individual, a 26-year-old man, suffered critical injuries and was subsequently rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
In the aftermath of the shooting, law enforcement authorities swiftly initiated a search for the culprits.
Their escape vehicle, a black Audi, was discovered not far from the crime scene on Blair Court later that same Saturday.
Investigators from the Homicide Squad have reason to believe that the suspects switched to a black Volkswagen Polo, which was subsequently located abandoned in Cadiz Place.
