Virus HMPV Supposedly Spreading Through NSW

Human metapneumovirus (HMPV) has been a subject of medical scrutiny since the early 2000s, and health authorities in New South Wales (NSW) have reported a notable spike in weekly cases, soaring from 648 cases at the beginning of the month to 1,168 cases in the week ending on September 17.

NSW Health has pointed out that HMPV typically prevails more during late winter and spring. During the same timeframe, COVID-19 cases have shown a declining trend, decreasing from 438 cases to 386, while influenza cases dropped from 2,250 to 1,424.

Medical experts acknowledge that HMPV is one of the viruses responsible for causing the common cold.

Dr. [Expert's Name], a leading virologist, reassured the public by stating that HMPV infections are not uncommon, occurring every year or every other year. He urged caution against overemphasizing the circulating viruses.

However, Professor William Rawlinson from the University of New South Wales raised concerns about the current situation.

After years of following strict protocols like mask-wearing and social distancing, HMPV could be causing more severe symptoms than usual.

He stated, "We're witnessing not only a surge in the number of cases but also an increased severity in illnesses among individuals who would typically experience mild symptoms."

It's worth noting that HMPV was only discovered in 2001, according to the US Centres for Disease Control. Typical symptoms of HMPV infection include coughing, fever, nasal congestion, and shortness of breath.

From all this info its safe to say there won’t be another lockdown like the last covid-19. Or more importantly don’t think people would allow another lockdown. I know I won’t, it’ll just be another way to control us.
