In Brisbane, a 32-year-old woman is scheduled to appear in court today, accused of committing auto theft with a toddler present in the vehicle. This incident occurred yesterday when a woman's vehicle was reportedly commandeered while a child sat in the rear seat.
The episode unfolded in the parking area of a building on St Pauls Terrace. A 33-year-old woman witnessed an unknown individual enter her car and speed off. In an attempt to recover her vehicle, the owner used her phone to track the vehicle to Leichhardt Street. There, she confronted the car, attempting to detain the alleged thief, which resulted in her receiving minor injuries.
Good Samaritans at the scene stepped in to assist the owner in holding the suspect until law enforcement arrived. The child, an 18-month-old, was found to be safe and without injury following the harrowing event.
